Branding Basics

So, You Want to Build Your Own Business, Sounds Complicated Right? No Worries We’re Here to Help!

Before we can ask what you’re selling we have to figure out why? Of course, to make money but why this way, why should somebody buy from you instead of somebody else? What does your brand say about the person wearing it?

On a deeper level your brand is unique because it fills a niche in a market, it has its own place in the world. That niche simply starts with your personal style & belief. It’s Your Personality in Physical Form. What’s the message behind your Brand? People buy a message not just a style.

Purpose:

Apple is one of the most successful Computer Companies in the world but they sell overpriced and lower quality products compared to Microsoft & HP but why do they continue to dominate various industries? Because their Purpose is “challenging the status quo” so everything that they do fits into that category. All products whether iPhone or Ihome all stand out in the marketplace against competitors through design or functionality and everybody who buys into that feels that they buy into a privileged community. For instance, how many people wear Air Pods for a look despite the added inconvenience of a higher price & charging time.

Vision

Who do you see in your clothes? Visualizing your audience will help you expand on key points such as colors, sizes, & sales projections. Take it a step further, who do you see your models being? What is your ideal model both male and female? People who are in this category or aspire to be are your target audience. Find out what they like and dislike.

Longevity

Where do you see your brand in a year? 5 years? Longevity is the key to success, not sales. How many times have we seen one hit wonders in the music industry? They have a quick hit and disappear leaving a faint memory on the world. True success is being able to withstand transitions and 4 build an empire of influence, Jay Z is a prime example of this. When Jay entered the rap industry, he had a list of artists that surpassed him lyrically, in sales, experience, etc.

By strategically nationalizing his audience, The Chants of Brooklyn & New York Gave listeners the first person experience that allowed them to relate to Times of happiness or struggle in their lives, songs like “Hard knock Life” Or albums from The Black Album, To The Blue Print Maintained themes of that same Marcy kid who took his lessons and utilized them towards and for success. How can you connect with your audience? What message will last over time?
